Dion Priddy Awarded Hobby Win in Dodge City!
Zach Esplund and Skeets Salazar both grabbed hobby stock heat race wins, their feature lined up with a front row of Cole Schulte and Zach Esplund. Schulte grabbed an early lead, despite being a pinball for other drivers, as they kept racing hard and making contact, Austin Rich got to the race lead. Rich would lead until the end despite some cautions. Austin Rich appeared to have won before failing post- race technical inspection. Dion Priddy was credited with his first win of the season. Second went to Brendan Rich, third was Cole Schulte, fourth was Hayden Ogorzolka and fifth was Danny Schulte. Hard charger in the event was Dion Priddy who gained eight spots. Other nice runs included Brendan Rich up six spots, Remington Koehn and Danny Schulte grabbed five spots each.
Ryan Kirchoff Grabs Sport Mod Win!
Brianna Maughlin and Ryan Kirchoff grabbed heat race wins in Dodge City for the sport mod class. Their feature lined up with a front row of Joey Maupin and Dustin Lampe. Lampe gained the initial lead, but chaos ensued as Brianna Maughlin slid into Jeff Ray, Ray with nowhere to go slid into Jack Kirchoff sending him headfirst into the outside wall. Jack Kirchoff was able to climb out of his car under his own power, the incident ended a few drivers' nights. On the restart, Ryan Kirchoff and Brianna Maughlin jumped to the front of the field, Ryan led several laps, before Maughlin got by. Late in the feature Maughlin left the inside lane open and Ryan took advantage. Ryan Kirchoff went on to pick up his second win of the season, both coming at Dodge City. Second was Brianna Maughlin, third was Dustin Lampe, fourth was Jonathan Saliba and fifth was Justin Lampe. Hard charger in the event was Justin Lampe with eight spots gained, other nice runs included Ryan Kirchoff up seven spots, Terry Vignery up five spots and Brian May up four spots.
Hafertepe Stays Hot in Dodge City!
Matt Covington, Sam Hafertepe Jr, Jake Bubak and Whit Gastineau all picked up heat race wins for the American Sprint Car Series, while Jason Martin won the last chance feature. The front row of the feature event saw Austyn Gossel and Sam Hafertepe Jr lead the field to green, quickly Hafertepe jumped out to an early race lead and was dominant throughout the feature. A couple cautions did not slow the veteran driver down as he stormed away with his fourth win of the season. Hafertepe has also won three straight events in Dodge City. Second went to Austyn Gossel, third went to Kyler Johnson, fourth went to Roger Crockett and fifth went to Jake Bubak. Hard charger in the event was Jason Martin who gained eight spots, other nice runs included Blake Hahn up seven spots, Jeremey Campbell up five spots and Roger Crockett up four spots.
