August 29th was a night of giving back to the fans at Salina Speedway. One of the most anticipated events of the season, Kids Night. Drivers, sponsors, and fans came together and donated 113 new bikes for the Big Worm Bike Give Away. These were all given away to lucky kids during the intermission. It Can’t Rain All The Time After a three week hiatus, mostly due to Mother Nature, racing returned to Salina Speedway. Drivers and fans alike were excited to get back to the ⅜ mile track for a Saturday night of camaraderie and racing. There were 120 cars checked in across five IMCA classes and the Crown Vics. There’s a new home for dirt track racing in north central Kansas, and it is Rooks County Speedway in Stockton Kansas. The newly configured ⅓ mile track hosts five IMCA classes and a Crown Vic class. The work done by Chad Sterling and his crew is phenomenal. And your Friday nights just got a lot more exciting. The excitement started well before the first green flag of the night. I arrived a little after four p.m. and already the pits were occupied with drivers and crews.
