Fifty-eight race teams checked into the Thomas County Speedway in Colby, KS on Friday, June 19th, the fans were treated to excellent IMCA racing all night long. Visiting victory lane were Kyle Rohleder in the modifieds, Zach Olmstead in the hobby stocks, Blaine Walt in the sport mods, and Johnny Yutterman in the stock cars!

Walt Captures Another One in Sport Mod Action!

Brian Conness and Blaine Walt won the two sport mod heat races on the night, the twenty lap main event featured a front row of Jasen Gray and Brian Conness. Gray got the early race lead and started clicking off laps as he looked strong from the start. Meanwhile, Blaine Walt was slowly and methodically working his way to the front, a couple cautions helped Walt get to the back of Gray. In the closing laps Gray held off slider attempts from Walt, and even crossed Walt back over on one slider attempt, however the wildy class veteran stole the show late. Walt got by Gray late to pick up his third win of the season and his second straight win at TCS. Second was Jasen Gray, third was Dylan Cherry, fourth was Brian Conness, and fifth was Douglas Beaman. Hard chargers in the event were Blaine Walt and Dylan Cherry who gained seven spots each, other nice runs included Douglas Beaman up six spots, while Keaton Shore and Jack Kirchoff gained five spots each.

Yutterman Flies To Stock Car Glory!

Kyle Clough won the only stock car heat in Colby on Friday Night, their fifteen lap feature was supposed to have a front row of Kyle Clough and Doug Holzmeister, but unfortunately, the 34H stock car was unable to continue after having trouble in his heat race. That moved Johnny Yutterman to the outside of the front row, where he and Clough started battling immediately, Yutterman threw himself off track in one and two while battling the high groove on the racetrack, and found himself in the back after the opening laps. That opened the door for Kolby Stegman and Quinton Yutterman to battle Clough for the race lead. The trio battled closely for a few laps without much separation that allowed Johnny Yutterman to find momentum on the top side again. Johnny Yutterman propelled from the outside line to take the lead away from Kolby Stegman in the closing laps to grab his third feature win of the season. Second went to Kolby Stegman, third went to Quinton Yutterman, fourth was Wheat Lippelman and fifth was Cody Williams in his stock car debut. Hard charger in the event was Wheat Lippelman who gained four spots!

Olmstead Holds Strong in Hobby Action!

Ethan Fabrizius, Zach Olmstead and Nick Sherfick all picked up hobby stock heat race wins on Friday Night. The front row featured Emmanuel Young and Levi Lippelman leading the field to green, quickly Levi Jones and Kelly Yutterman found their way to the front of the field. The duo battled closely with Levi Jones having the upperhand for a good portion of the event. Later on in the feature, Kelly Yutterman went for a roll over the top of turn one, luckily he was okay. The field restarted with Nick Sherfick and Levi Jones taking the field but Zach Olmstead along with Trent Matson, and Mitchel Fischer were making moves to the front in a hurry. The trio got around Levi Jones, to make the top-three all Nebraskans, in the closing laps Matson was able to get to Olmstead's rear bumper but never was able to complete the pass. Zach Olmstead went on to grab his seventh win in thirteen feature appearances on the season! Second was Trent Matson, third was Mitchell Fischer, fourth was Levi Jones, and fifth was Billy Phelps who had a huge run. Hard charger in the event was Billy Phelps who gained thirteen spots! Other nice runs included Zach Olmstead up ten spots, Brayden Hilzer up nine spots, Bret Conness up eight spots, Trent Matson,

Mitchell Fischer and Brian Riley up seven spots each. While Aiden Miller, Cash Tubbs and Christopher Glass all gained six spots each.

Rohleder Stands Tall in Modified Action!

The modifieds closed out Friday's program with one heat race won by WaKeeney's Kyle Rohleder, Tanner Clough led the field to green, with Rohleder on the outside for the feature event. Quickly, Rohleder shot to the lead and started clicking off laps. Clean air and a good starting spot made for a perfect storm for the WaKeeney native, as he built a half of a straightaway advantage over Eddie Belec, and fellow WaKeeney native Dylan Sherfick! Rohleder's lead was up to four seconds throughout the event as he was in total control throughout the evening, from unloading to hitting the track for heat race and feature action. Kyle Rohleder picked up his second win of the season, both coming at the Thomas County Speedway, second was Eddie Belec, third was Dylan Sherfick, fourth was Clay Money who found speed in the late goings of the feature, and fifth was Brandon Clough. Hard charger in the event was Eddie Belec who gained two spots.
