Holzmeister Wins Stock Car Dandy in Goodland!

Fifty-eight race teams checked into the Goodland Raceway on Saturday night for the Bill Gray Memorial, visiting victory lane were Josh Barnhart in the sport mod, Brayden Hilzer in the hobby stock, Doug Holzmeister in the stock car and Eddie Belec in the modified.


Barnhart Strong in Sport Mod Action!

The sport mods opened the night, they ran two heat races won by Brianna Maughlin and Monty Nordyke. Their feature event started with a front row of Cody Burkhardt and Doug Beaman, Burkhardt held the early advantage but it only took three laps for Josh Barnhart to find the top three. Barnhart kept applying pressure and with five laps to go made the decisive move in turns one and two to take over the race lead. A caution on lap eleven, set up one last shot for the field to track down Barnhart in the closing four laps. Barnhart used his clean air and driving expertise to pull off his sixth win of the season, in twelve races. His second win of the season in Goodland! Second went to Brianna Maughlin, third to Doug Beaman, fourth to Monty Nordyke and Jasen Gray rounded out the field in fifth place! Hard charger in the event was Josh Barnhart who grabbed seven spots, while Brianna Maughlin gained five spots.

Hilzer Captures Hobby Win!

The hobby stocks ran second on the program, they ran two heat races won by Mitchell Fischer and Trent Matson. Their feature event started with a front row of Brayden Hilzer and Levi Jones. Hilzer held off jones in the first half of the race, while in the second half of the race heavy hitters Mitchell Fischer and Trent Matson started applying pressure on the lead battle. Hilzer and Fischer went side by side in the closing laps with Hilzer getting to the checkered flag first. Brayden Hilzer grabbed his ninth win of the season in nineteen events! Second went to Mitchell Fischer, third to Trent Matson, fourth to Levi Jones and fifth to Ethan Fabrizius! Hard charger in the event was Mitchell Fischer who gained seven spots, while Trent Matson and Aiden Miller gained five spots each!

Holzmeister Wins Stock Car Dandy!

The stock cars were third on the program, their heat race winners were Doug Holzmeister and Layne Bellm, while the front row of the feature started with Tyler Tipton and Doug Holzmeister. Holzmeister and Tipton battled closely for several laps, and allowed a fast Jason Rogers to close in on the lead battle, going three wide at times. Holzmeister finally made the middle groove work the best and was able to pull away in the closing laps. Doug Holzmeister won his third feature event of the season! Second went to Jason Rogers, third to Tyler Tipton, fourth to Layne Bellm and Jeff Tubbs was fifth! Hard chargers in the event were Jason Rogers and Austin Rhoades who gained three spots each!

Belec Cruises to Mod Win!

The modifieds ended the night, their heat races were won by Bubba Alvarado and Eddie Belec. Their feature event started with a front row of Nick Link and Bubba Alvarado. Nick Link led the first four laps, meanwhile the “hard charger” Eddie Belec was ready to pounce for the lead. Belec took his lead on lap five, and two mid race cautions never slew him down. Eddie Belec grabbed his fourth win of the season! Second was Dominic Ursetta, third was Greg Gustus, fourth was Nick Link and fifth was John Burrow! Hard chargers in the event were Dominic Ursetta, John Burrow, and Max Quint who all gained five spots each!
