Morgan Olmstead Holds Off Brother Zach in Hobby Action!

Zach Olmstead and Dylan Bell both grabbed hobby stock heat race victories on Friday, their fifteen lap main event started with a front row of Nick Sherfick and Morgan Olmstead. Morgan fired off to an early race led, but caution quickly came out as the young Sherfick went for a spin. Morgan restarted the field and quickly brother Zach and fellow competitor Dylan Bell flew to the front. The trio would battle closely but would remain the same, as Morgan led wire to wire. Morgan Olmstead picked up win number four on the season, second was Zach Olmstead, third was Dylan Bell, fourth was Bingston Rogers and fifth was Carson Hageman. Hard charger in the event was Zach Olmstead with eight positions gained, other nice runs included Dylan Bell up six spots, and Bret Conness up four spots. Hafertepe Grabs Late Race Win in WaKeeney!

Garrett Benson, Kyler Johnson and Sam Hafertepe Jr all grabbed heat race wins with the American Sprint Car Series Friday night in WaKeeney. Jake Bubak grabbed the pole dash win, and led the field to the green flag. Bubak held a lead for the majority of the event as it appeared like Hafertepe saved his equipment for the late race run. Once the leaders got to lapped traffic, the series points leader made his move and pounced on Bubak to steal the win in the closing laps. Bubak came within half of a second of the lead late, but was unable to get by. Sam Hafertepe Jr grabbed his eleventh win of the season. A season that saw him win five straight events prior to the Knoxville Nationals! Second was Kyler Johnson after Jake Bubak was light at the scales, resulting in a disqualification. Third was Brady Baker who was impressive all night long, fourth was Terry Easum and fifth was series regular Matt Covington. Blake Hahn suffered a hard lap one crash as he barreled off of turn two, his crew fixed him up and he charged from 23rd to finish 8th. Hard charger in the event was Brogan Carder who gained ten spots, other nice runs included Matt Covington up eight spots, Terry Easum up seven spots, Jeff Stasa up six spots, while Jason Martin, Landon Britt, Jordan Knight, and Zack Merritt all gained five spots each.
